From the generations of unresolved trauma, to the attachment ruptures and dysfunctional family dynamics to the endless systemic challenges, there needs to be a safe space for healing.  This is why this work is important: to break the harmful cycles, to make sure your pain is no longer overlooked or ignored simply because "you are strong".  Glow Up came to be from a passion of mine to educate, heal and empower others to embrace their whole life story. Michelle is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. She received a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2013 from The University of Maryland, Baltimore, focusing on clinical/direct practice. With a decade of clinical experience, she has worked as a therapist in a private group practice, outpatient mental health, and managed care settings.

My career in mental health began in 2006 while working in Florida's child welfare system after receiving my BS in Gerontology from Bethune-Cookman University. I knew I wanted to further my knowledge to make a more substantial and significant impact when working with children and their families. This led me to earn my Master's in Counseling in 2009 from Webster University and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My clinical work experience includes working with children and their supportive caregivers who have been exposed to abuse and neglectful circumstance, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and providing therapeutic interventions to inpatient adult clients who either were voluntarily or in-voluntarily placed at a crisis stabilization hospital.
