Nice to meet you, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Delaware. I am also a Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor (C-AADC), Certified Mental Health Screener (C-MHS), and Certified First Responder Counselor (C-FRC). My education includes my Doctor of Social Work (DSW) in 2024, Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2018, Post-Bachelor Certificate in Trauma-Informed Approaches in 2019, and my Bachelors of Arts (BA) with a Major in Psychology in 2016. I am a Marine Corps veteran, serving four years of active duty before starting my academic journey. Hello and welcome. My name is Dr. Michele Kapalcik or “Dr. Michele” for short. I am a licensed Counselor and Therapist in several states. I have worked with helping a multitude of clients with many disorders and personal backgrounds. In addition, I have a Ph.D in Addiction Psychology with over 25 years of sobriety myself. I am very familiar with all stages of addiction and am eager to help. I am a very kind hearted caring individual who takes pride in understanding the personal issues of others and applying personal treatment to meet their needs. I work with each client from start of treatment to finish to preserve and strengthen the counseling relationship to our needs, in order to meet or exceed client expectations.

I believe in meeting people where they are, perpetuating meaningful and supportive connection. My specialty includes working with individuals/families that have experienced emotional and physical abandonment and/or are healing from narcissistic abuse in either parental/romantic/sibling relationships. In addition, I work with individuals that are struggling with the following: mood disorders, personality disorders, intimate partner violence; as well as those that have caused harm in relationships, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, betrayal trauma, and substance use disorder. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning that I prioritize a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore and process their experiences. I have extensive experience working with individuals that have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma in addition to the consequences of that trauma.
