I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy services in California and Rhode Island (LCSW / LICSW). My expertise encompasses anxiety, depression, grief, relational challenges, major life transitions, adjusting to difficult health diagnoses, and trauma processing. In my work with clients, I prioritize building a collaborative partnership that cultivates compassion, respect, self-esteem, and resilience.
As a United States Veteran with extensive deployment experience, I am highly attuned to the stressors of Military and Veteran life. My specialization lies in treating individuals grappling with the effects of past physical, emotional, or combat-related trauma. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA; I am dedicated to creating a nonjudgmental and supportive therapeutic environment.
My passion as a mental health clinician is deliberate: to guide you authentically and effectively on your wellness journey. I firmly believe that regardless of one's experiences, individuals have control over how they narrate their lives. My goal is to assist you in discovering and embracing your true self. Recognizing the unique nature of each person's path to recovery, I create custom treatment plans designed to reduce symptoms and stabilize mood through a comprehensive mental health model addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and physiological aspects of each client.
My ultimate desire is to help you realize that long-term change is not only possible but also sustainable through intentional and consistent efforts. Learning to identify triggers for negative thoughts and beliefs empowers you to regain control of your life and infuse it with new meaning.
To me, the essence of therapy lies in reconditioning maladaptive perspectives, building emotional intelligence, and providing guidance on navigating life circumstances. Through conscious and continual effort, you will develop adaptive coping skills, allowing you to manifest the very best version of yourself each day.
The therapist-client relationship is unique, serving as the foundation for change and the stage for healing. Reaching out for assistance is a courageous first step toward healing and growth. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you, offering support in reaching your goals and navigating your struggles. Book an appointment with me today.

Change is stressful and adolescence is a period of enormous change - especially so these days with the pandemic, social media, gender politics, and looming concerns about the future. Many, many teens today feel overwhelmed by pressure. Struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, relationship problems, drugs, alcohol and academic problems is common. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that by 2021 49.5% of adolescents in the U.S. had a mental disorder, with females, LGBTQIA, and multiracial individuals at the highest risk.
If you are a teen or the parent of a teen in pain and looking for a way forward, I can help. I began work as a counseling psychotherapist in 1994. Since then I've helped many adolescents, adults, couples, and parents ease their suffering and overcome problems such as these.
My effectiveness as a helper comes from
1) listening carefully to understand your concerns and experience
2) non-judgementally accepting you as you are
3) knowing that you are the expert on you and planning treatment collaboratively with you to achieve your goals.
4) Providing the tools of skills training and coaching to empower you to heal and thrive
For me, it's all about knowing that my clients don't need to be fixed. They need to be understood, accepted, provided with effective tools for solving their problems and trusted to overcome their difficulties in a way that works for them so they can feel better, function better and begin living life as they choose to. My approach is straightforward and built on compassion and evidence-based techniques.

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I am originally a Midwest farm gal with a little city pazzazz having lived in the Chicagoland area for many years. Although I am now a CA resident, my Midwest roots are grounding to me. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California. I provide counseling services via telehealth and on Tuesday's have in-person sessions available to those who live locally. On days I am not working, I enjoy reading, riding the motorcycle with my husband, spending time with my adult kids, traveling, taking walks with our pet dog, Buddy, and working out at the gym. I am divorced, have lost a pet I dearly cherished, lost my father, and worked hard to obtain my PhD! I am a huge advocate of self-care because that is what helped me keep taking one step forward on difficult days. I am Dr. William A. Lambos. I am dedicated to providing quality care that emphasizes treating you as a whole person. In my treatment model, medication is a last resort and utilized only after other options have been fully explored. My approach differs in that I recognize the role of the brain in mental health. I recognize that problems in one area of a client's life impact other areas, and so my philosophy is designed to integrate all aspects of functioning. I am committed to helping you achieve balance and harmony in every area of your life by reducing stress and teaching independent self-regulation.
What makes me different is that my approach "Leads with The Brain," and finishes with how you achieve balance and self-awareness. Many behavioral health issues have brain-based components that are usually ignored. Once these are identified and handled, therapy can do its job as it was always meant to work.
In today's hectic, busy world, the keys to a peaceful and prosperous existence include the ability to manage stress caused by demands on our time and energy. Our unique selection of resources combine effective traditional approaches with innovative methods of treating the brain and body.

**ACCEPTING ADULTS (18+) ONLY**
Hi, I'm Yang. And I'm here to help you heal from self-abandonment and emotional dysregulation.
Self-abandonment occurs when we struggle to stand up for our needs and live by our authentic values; often, we don't even know what they are. Those who struggle with self-abandonment don't feel like they know who they really are, and what they want, and often feel directionless and ungrounded. We feel small, afraid, anxious, aggressive and dependent on others.
Emotional dysregulation occurs when we don't understand our emotions and how to manage them. They control us, instead of the other way around. We behave in ways we wish we didn't, and we build up shame around those behaviors as if they are who we are. We cannot separate our emotions from who we are.
These issues often lie at the heart of different mental health struggles, such as depression, anxiety, as well as many relationship challenges. The good news is that resolving these, therefore, can potentially lead to ripple effects of change in your life.

My work focuses on helping individuals achieve a level of clarity and consciousness in their lives that can create a sense of acceptance, grounding and growth. Growth can take many forms in one's life: improved relationships, improved sense of well-being, enhanced sense of self, reduction of painful/unwanted symptoms, career success, etc. My approach focuses on understanding and uncovering what stands in the way of one's growth. This process lays the groundwork for reaching a place of greater fulfillment. I seek to explore issues from the past/present to provide insight into what motivates present feelings and behaviors.
I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I have over 10 years of experience in serving the community by working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and the elderly. I specialize in dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, and grief/loss.
I am currently accepting patients ages 18+. Although my specialty includes relationship issues, I prefer to work with clients in an individual, one-on-one, setting.

I graduated with my Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2021 but have been working in the field as a Clinical Therapist since 2020. I have worked with various populations including Individuals, Children & Adolescents, Couples and Families. I help clients by coming from a non judgmental, supportive and empathetic, and relatable down to earth approach. I like to meet my clients where they are at and allow them to help me guide them by providing a space they feel comfortable to open up and be themselves in.

As a biracial person, I have experienced the same racial discrimination, microaggressions, and racism that my clients of color have encountered. My experiences offer me a unique perspective and understanding of how these encounters influence and impact POC and how they show up in the world. It is my goal to work with my clients collaboratively to assist them in navigating such encounters that impact them in all areas of their lives. My goal is to help my clients identify, connect, and process these experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

I join with my clients to develop a plan which will result in a more effective way of managing negative or distorted thought patterns. We will examine closely situations that result in strong emotional feelings. Utilizing new methods of coping results in a reduction of negative moods, improved self esteem and the ability to utilize helpful tools in the future.
