Do you worry about (or avoid) certain situations for fear of panic attacks/shortness of breath/stomach distress/intrusive thoughts of anticipated catastrophe? Do you stay up at night worrying about that thing you said/did/didn’t do/remembered/forgot/found on WebMD's symptom checker? Do you have specific fears that paralyze you? You may have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety sucks, therapy can help! I specialize in helping you put anxiety in its rightful place. Every emotion needs a place at the table, but when anxiety is the loudest (or only) voice life becomes out of balance, and our choices no longer feel like conscious decisions. My approach is based on balancing acceptance and change. I operate from a person-centered humanistic perspective. That means I offer a non-judgmental safe place to work on issues that don't always feel so safe, using warmth and humor. I incorporate EMDR, mindfulness based therapy, self-compassion, attachment work, and CBT anxiety reduction strategies. I believe in this work, and have seen the healing that is possible when people find the right treatment. If the time has come for you to move toward change and create some balance I would love to help! Please email me to set up a consultation call.

Hi there, I'm Alicia. Are you feeling lost or stuck in some aspect of your life and finding it hard to move forward? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? With your permission, I help to hold the container for deeper exploration and healing. I am a trauma-based therapist trained in EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I believe that each of us possesses an internal source of wisdom that can be cultivated through psychotherapy, psychedelic medicines, meditation practices, yoga and other connecting practices that link the brain, body and spirit. My therapeutic approach has a foundation of mindfulness and compassion, curiosity and respect. I often use EMDR as an evidence-based approach to working with trauma and other challenges. I am sensitive to the impact of one's social, physical and cultural environment as well as systems of oppression. Clients say my approach is warm, relational, collaborative, strengths-based and trauma-informed. I cannot do the work for you, but I can help you along the way, and it is truly an honor and a joy for me.

Have you ever asked yourself, "why don't I feel good about myself and my choices in life?" I want to help you explore those feelings and get to the root cause so we can reveal the parts of you that feel alive and whole again. Do you remember the hopes and dreams you had as a child? What happened to those dreams? It could be life events or circumstances, some that were out of your control and some that you made consciously or unconsciously. If you have experienced trauma, sexual trauma, this can contribute to your mental, physical, and emotional struggles. Sexual trauma is not easy to discuss, as it is a taboo topic, and you may not find you can share your story with your friends and family. Secrecy is part of the toxic shame that often leads to issues with self-esteem, relationships, intimacy, and other behavioral problems. Every person has the answers within themselves to reveal the shiny pearl in the bed of a sandy oyster. I can help you if you are ready to do the work of personal growth and healing.

I believe in genuine, authentic interaction with my clients using humor and warmth. I believe using an informed approach with proven interventions are the 'keys to the kingdom' and allow the client to 'unlock' their own way forward. I believe each client has an inner wisdom that - once discovered - will lead them onto their own path, towards their most genuine, core sense of self, and healing. It is important to be able to identify and describe your goals, and remove whatever is blocking you from reaching them. My concentration was neural-plasticity (the way the brain is trained and untrained), I have extensive experience in addiction medicine (this includes disordered eating as well as other addictions), and multi-cultural experience as well as LGBTQ. Honesty, integrity, insight, awareness, knowledge, relief and resolutions are what you'll get with me. I believe the theraputic process is organic and our sessions will unfold overtime, focusing on getting you to a place where you can think clearly, understand yourself better and feel solid. I am an out of the box thinker and doer with full acceptance for all lifes wonders. Differences are appealing and I welcome them with open arms, encouraging you to be your absolute self %100 of the time. If you need a jump start, help figuring out what makes you tick, what makes you happy, what your authentic self needs to thrive, I'd love to work with you. Life throws curve balls that can be annoying, frustrating, shocking at times. I get it because I've been there. It's ok and healthy to ask for help. My specialties include insight oriented talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused and strategic therapy. My history is working with adults who have depression and anxiety, relationship distress, anger management issues, trauma histories, existential crisis and have co-occurring disorders which require medication treatment. I work with couples who seek help communicating and bringing the love back into their relationship. I provide psycho-education and real life solutions to problems that seem unsolvable at face value, but with that one tweak, you find out they were solvable all along. I fully believe in the connection between body and mind and weave differing modalities into therapy in order to address each component of healing and wellness. Often we don't realize that just one simple tweak can launch you into the lifetime you want. Are you struggling with personal challenges affecting your relationships, work, social life and, most importantly, yourself. Do you miss that hope, that loving feeling for your partner or your kids? Complex, yet common, issues around love, family, purpose in life, and doing what truly makes you happy, have become overwhelming and you’re ready to do something different. Are you feeling underwhelmed? You may have recently undergone a loss, job change, life change, a psychiatric or medical emergency, and are feeling completely stuck. I believe your truth is in you, and my role of therapist is to provide emotional support, insight, and to help you navigate through past and present so you can have the future you deserve.

Would you would like to gain insight toward become aware of the underlying causes of your problematic issues – towards recovering your authentic self? I would be honored to help you discover for yourself the vital components to authentic healing. I would like to include here a note to our modern-day warriors – today’s public servants. You may find yourself having significant impairment in your social or occupational areas of functioning, or you may have the need to process a stressful event you have experienced. If you begin experiencing increased emotional arousal (anger, irritability, fear, depression) in daily events, you may be experiencing acute stress response. There are critical components involved in coming to terms with acute or post-traumatic stress, and I would be honored to help you recognize and implement these steps. I have been there.

Hello, I am Chung, a bi-lingual Vietnamese licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in California with over 20 years of experience in mental health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, PTSD, anger & stress management, relationship issues, substance abuse, parenting problems, individual with special needs, career challenges, OCD & ADHD, bi-polar, BPD, schizophrenia, etc. However, I don't accept couple/family at this time. I also don't provide any verification letter. I believe in working in partnership with clients, utilizing their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends), work or school environment, faith & spirituality in this process. I think when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change. Please contact me via my website for further questions https://corazonconversations.com/contact/ Growing up as a first generation can be quite overwhelming because there is a lot of navigating that we are doing both personally and within our familias. There are many layers unique to our experiences. Our work together in therapy will embrace all the parts that make you, we will learn to navigate what your current struggles are, and you’ll become the expert of your own mind and body even more. You are not just going to cope with the struggles, you will have a deeper mind, body, and soul connection with yourself and will find courage, slowness, and embracement in your life y corazon. I help Black, Indigenous, Chicanx, Latinx people navigate first generation experiences, life transitions, physical and sexual trauma, generational and cultural differences (age, family roles, religion) and traumas. These sorts of life experiences can cause us anxiety, overwhelm, shame, self doubt, sadness, fears, and sometimes, even engaging in behaviors or relationships just to try and cope. I integrate ancestral knowledge and western knowledge in our work in order to reach a mind-body-emotion-spirit and soul connection. Let's break these cycles and change up the game for ourself and future generaciones.

“It is better to travel well than to arrive.” – Buddha My name is Heidi Dryer and I obtained my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2015 but I have been practicing since 2012. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have extensive experience working with individuals from all walks of life. The most important aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I understand the importance of having an empathic ear, especially now that we find ourselves with the illusion of being “connected” with one another only to feel more disconnected than ever. We are not born good listeners. Listening is an acquired skill. It is difficult to find someone, even in the professional world of therapy, who really listens and genuinely tries to understand the other person’s world. That is why I try my best to be present with every single person that I meet in the therapy room. I believe in holistically providing treatment so I work under the premise that all individuals have the innate ability to solve their problems although sometimes a guiding hand is necessary to lead one in the right path to have a healthy and happy life. At some point in my life, I worked as Flight Attendant so I often use the metaphor to describe my philosophy that all human beings are travelers in this journey called life. I believe that sometimes, as travelers, we often either don’t pack enough or carry too much luggage. Symbolically, this luggage has been accumulating little by little throughout our lives from the moment we are born. We carry good things in our luggage. But, sometimes, there are too many unnecessary things that are just weighing us down. If we don’t make an effort to make a thorough inventory of all those items our journey will be unpleasant. We know this is happening when we feel stuck in life. We feel unhappy, anxious depressed, hopeless and helpless. Sometimes it's difficult to get out of that loop so this is when therapy can be very helpful.
