You are grieving, heartbroken, or lost. You didn’t get the job, you broke up with your partner, someone important has died. Grief is normal and exquisite and painful. You want to talk about it, but you don’t want to burden anyone. Here you have permission to be a burden. To be messy, seen, repetitive, and stuck. I’ll meet you there, but won’t leave you there. We work towards managing the unimaginable. Reckoning with the stories we tell and the paths lost, in order to reconcile with where we truly are. There you will find possibility. New stories, new love, new hope. There you will find the courage to start again.

Hello, I am Amber, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a graduate from John F. Kennedy University where I studied Holistic Counseling Psychology, an experiential program that went beyond the traditional clinical nature of becoming a therapist, where I developed skills and enthusiasm needed to attune to the whole person and not just a list of symptoms or diagnosis. My education and training amplifies the traditional therapeutic work by also incorporating expressive arts, play, nature and somatic interventions. Prior to having my private practice, I worked for county programs with those who have moderate to severe mental health issues, community based non-profits, residential treatment centers and in schools with children whose mental health impacts their ability to learn and have quality relationships with their peers and families.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or out of sync with the life you want to live. You may be going through a life transition, have become more aware of past or present traumas impacting you now, or have faced a recent difficult experience, and are ready to begin your healing journey. I help empower teens and adults to overcome past adverse and traumatic experiences to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Adversity and trauma may have led you to experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, or relationship challenges, that negatively impact your daily life. But these symptoms do not define you. Rather they speak to the hardships and challenges you have faced. Allow me to offer you a safe space to process your story and learn new skills to begin your healing journey, release shame, build self-compassion, and live authentically YOU. I look forward to working together.

Hello and Welcome! I am a social worker who has been in the field for over 20 years. Early in my career, I was fortunate enough to work with a psychiatrist who believed there was more to treating mental health than medication. I participated in a training with him and I was transformed as a therapist. I was trained in the relaxation response and mindfulness meditation and using the body to help heal people who have had significant trauma and mental health challenges. From there, I went on to get my yoga teaching certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Since then, I have been helping children, adolescents and adults learn more about themselves and help them connect with the truest part of themselves. I believe part of my purpose is to help people learn to love themselves. I lived in CA for a long time and still hold my LCSW license. I was fortunate enough to study with a number of teachers at Spirit Rock Meditation Center who have influenced my work. I blend a number of different frameworks into my practice including trauma-informed CBT, DBT, somatic psychotherapy and self-compassion. I am mindful and respectful of all differences (racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, economic, gender, sexual orientation, ability etc.) and strive to understand each person within the context of their life history. Every person who seeks treatment has unique needs and goals. I strive to work collaboratively with you to keep your goals at the center of our work together. I stand in solidarity with the BIPOC community and all those impacted by systemic racism and oppression. I will uphold my own values and ethics and support all those who are speaking out against injustice of any kind. As a therapist, I am committed to creating a safe space for all.

Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist providing individual therapy for adults (ages 18 to 64) via Telehealth in sunny California! I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology through California State University, Bakersfield in 2020. I started practicing my therapeutic skills as a student trainee at our University Clinic and focused on treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship issues. During my last year of practicum, I trained in an Intensive Outpatient Program providing group therapy with colleagues through the lens of DBT and Existentialism to treat depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychosis, ptsd, substance use, and life transitions. Since receiving my Masters in 2020, I joined the community mental health team to provide treatment for same conditions I helped treat at the Intensive Outpatient Program. In this setting, I was able to implement a variety of approaches such as Trauma Informed-CBT, SFT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. For the last two years, my last role in this setting included providing intensive therapy support to individuals and their loved ones who were discharged from a psychiatric hospital due to a mental health crisis for suicide attempt, homicidal ideation, debilitating psychosis, and grave disability.

I am passionate about the outdoors, animals, music, art, and new adventures and I try to blend this into my therapy as much as possible. In our sessions, we will spend time building a strong therapeutic relationship that will allow us to identify your strengths, your goals, and how to get you there. I provide a compassionate, judgement free space and an integrative approach, assessing what interventions or approaches work best for you and tailoring your treatment to meet your needs and I am able to provide a sliding scale payment to make treatment more accessible as well. I have worked as a Therapist, Clinical Director, and Clinical Case Manager within residential and outpatient settings providing care to adolescents, young adults, veterans, houseless individuals, individuals involved in the legal system, couples, and families. I feel strongly that through building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship, we are able to make progress towards goals and work to heal past trauma or tackle primary obstacles. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to see themselves grow and change. I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults in exploring who they are and what they want in life, as well as individuals experiencing big life changes. My clients are open minded, accepting of challenges, and ready to rewrite their stories.
