As a mother, wife, and first-generation college graduate, I draw inspiration from my trials, using them as fuel to empower others to create a better tomorrow. Aside from my clinical work, I am also a mental health speaker and advocate. I am passionate about stopping the stigmas related to mental health-- particularly in relation to mental illness. I want to work to normalize experiences working through and overcoming symptoms of mental health disorders. I want to provide support for those looking to work on their own diagnoses, but also help to end cycles of trauma and mental illness that can oftentimes reoccur in families across generations without intervention and treatment.

Hello. my name is Diane Gibbs and i have been a licensed clinical social worker since 2008. I have worked inpatient and outpatient mental health. I am Rogerian trained, which means i have awareness of my boundaries and the clts boundaries. I am clt centered, being aware of my transference in the therapy relationship; often using the transference for clt growth. I am humanistic, which means any one of us can experience disturbance of mood, thought, or emotion; simply because we are human. As a clt centered therapist my role is to hold a mirror up as to allow the clt to witness their experience and offer reccomendations for tx plan. Also, empowering the clt to connect and use their strengths; support, spirituality or agnostic beliefs. I have used various modality interventions including meditation, visualization, and exposure acclimation. I have worked with 5 yo to 80+ yr old. My experience is broad, from post partum to end of life issues and many life stages in between. Whether its anxiety or depression. From bipolar to ocd or schizophrenia; i work at creating a safe environment where boundaries are clear and the clt feels free to discuss their issues in safety and privacy.

Hello, I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that). At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy. As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran. Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.

Have you ever asked yourself, "why don't I feel good about myself and my choices in life?" I want to help you explore those feelings and get to the root cause so we can reveal the parts of you that feel alive and whole again. Do you remember the hopes and dreams you had as a child? What happened to those dreams? It could be life events or circumstances, some that were out of your control and some that you made consciously or unconsciously. If you have experienced trauma, sexual trauma, this can contribute to your mental, physical, and emotional struggles. Sexual trauma is not easy to discuss, as it is a taboo topic, and you may not find you can share your story with your friends and family. Secrecy is part of the toxic shame that often leads to issues with self-esteem, relationships, intimacy, and other behavioral problems. Every person has the answers within themselves to reveal the shiny pearl in the bed of a sandy oyster. I can help you if you are ready to do the work of personal growth and healing.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals. Life has shown up and you might feel depressed, anxious, lonely, or angry. You could be struggling in your relationships. Do you have unresolved grief, trauma, or shame? Do you allow your emotions to get the best of you? If you can relate to these questions, you’ve found the right place. You’ve taken the first step towards self-healing and transformation. For over ten years, I have treated clients with depression, anxiety, relational issues, anger issues, addictions, PTSD, and other mental health challenges to make lasting positive changes. Having worked through many of life’s problems and experiences myself, I can empathize and relate to most issues and connect with almost anyone. Working together, we will assess your current situation, process your past, and establish objectives to accomplish your goals. Most issues we struggle with start with the relationship we have with ourselves. When we change ourselves, our issues tend to resolve as well. My clients report they have experienced a revitalized relationship with themselves to resolve their current issues and to better navigate feelings, relationships & life’s challenges. In therapy, I provide a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental environment and use evidence-based therapies to help you meet your goals.

Hi there and great job on taking that first step in considering if therapy is right for you. I invite you to come with me on a journey of your own choosing where we will walk together in darkness to find the light you’ve been seeking. Whether it’s life’s little annoying stressors or more complex issues, as a trauma survivor myself, I know firsthand what this is like and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Whether you choose me or another therapist, make the choice to just give it a try. Sometimes all you need is another person to hold the light while you do the work you need to heal.

Hi there, I'm Denise. Do you feel anxious, worried, or depressed and overwhelmed with your life? Are you struggling to feel happy? Do you feel past trauma is affecting your ability to heal? Is it hard to be kind to yourself or to tell yourself that you are doing all that you can? Together, we can build a safe place so that we can find what's not working for you and get you back to a place where your mind, body, and spirit feel at ease. We'll use a mindfulness approach and identify those negative thoughts and come up with a balanced adaptive thought that can help you feel better. I integrate mindfulness and an Eye Movement Desensitization Approach (EMDR), along with Cognitive Behavioral Theory and several other approaches to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. All of this comes from a strength based, trauma informed, culturally informed perspective where we will identify your strengths and your plan to help yourself heal. I'm here to help and understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming and scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the thoughts and habits holding you back.

**ACCEPTING ADULTS (18+) ONLY** Hi, I'm Yang. And I'm here to help you heal from self-abandonment and emotional dysregulation. Self-abandonment occurs when we struggle to stand up for our needs and live by our authentic values; often, we don't even know what they are. Those who struggle with self-abandonment don't feel like they know who they really are, and what they want, and often feel directionless and ungrounded. We feel small, afraid, anxious, aggressive and dependent on others. Emotional dysregulation occurs when we don't understand our emotions and how to manage them. They control us, instead of the other way around. We behave in ways we wish we didn't, and we build up shame around those behaviors as if they are who we are. We cannot separate our emotions from who we are. These issues often lie at the heart of different mental health struggles, such as depression, anxiety, as well as many relationship challenges. The good news is that resolving these, therefore, can potentially lead to ripple effects of change in your life.

Hey you, I'm Angie, a sex and relationship therapist uniquely suited to support your journey to pleasure and healing. (NOTE: I'm currently not doing COUPLES therapy through Grow, so I would encourage you to find another provider if you're seeking couples work.) Have you struggled to find a therapist who you can be completely transparent with in regards to your sexuality or gender? Have you hidden your identities, desires, and challenges, for fear of judgment, shame or rejection? Sexuality is a challenging topic, one that most therapists don't receive much training around. As a result, even therapists can be afraid to broach sensitive topics, which makes it even harder for you when your mental health, relationship challenges, and overall well-being is so interrelated to your sexual health. Instead of shying away, my work centers your sexual self as a primary domain of care. First, we build trust. And when you're ready, we explore every aspect that may be impacting your life. This can include healing sexual trauma or harm, exploring early childhood development and shame, permission giving to talk about different identities, expressions and desires, and creating pathways to your fullest most expansive pleasure and connection. Topics I'm passionate about include closing the orgasm gap, healing sexual trauma, queer love and sex and healing the harm from homophobia, gender expansive exploration, non-monogamy and open relating, kink/ BDSM/ fetish exploration, the needs of sex workers (whorephobia and stigma) and those who've experienced trafficking, and finding pleasure after experiencing a religious/ cult repression. I identify/ am a member of many of these communities, which provides lived experience to balance clinical expertise as well. We work together to create a safe container for your diverse and erotic self, learning how to integrate those selves into your relationships and your life. Pleasure is key to mental health and well-being.
