Do you feel like you've lost HOPE?! Do you often feel like what's the point? Do you feel like you are just surviving? HOPE! HOPE; noun; 1 - A feeling or expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. 2 - A feeling of trust HOPE; Verb; Example: - I HOPE therapy helps me and I HOPE I learn the skills I need to move through this experience. I truly believe as a therapist that hope is the catalyst for change. Hope propels us to keep trying. When we feel stuck due to trauma holding us back, our thought distortions, or our self-sabotaging, HOPE still is present and propelling us to move forward. I am a firm believer that all mental health disorders' root cause is trauma. This has been widely researched and confirmed. My goal is for us to meet the goals you have for yourself. We will do this by identifying healthy coping skills, becoming aware of thought distortions we are experiencing, and be able to identify AND work through triggers. I believe in acknowledging generational curses. Trauma is passed down from generation to generation until a cycle breaker comes along who is willing to put in the hard work to heal themselves and prevent inflicting any more damage to themselves and the future generations to come. I can promise you this work is not easy, life is not easy, we have to pick our hard. Staying where you are is also, HARD. Your healing will be worth it! You are worth it! There is HOPE for a better future for yourself. My open environment will serve as a safe space for your to process and move through life's challenges. Let me work alongside you to offer an empathetic, genuine, empowering, and encouraging experience. LETS WORK!

Hi! My name is Alexis Kuney and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Southern California. Therapy and meeting a new therapist for the first time can be a little scary, but you've taken the first step, which is great! If you’ve never gone to therapy, or if it’s been a while, it’s time to move forward and rediscover the best version of yourself, and I'm here to help you do that. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, interpersonal/relationship issues, adult ADHD, and survivors of domestic violence. I also work with parents in high-conflict custody disputes to help them navigate the complexities of family court. I have a personal knowledge of what it means to struggle, and I find satisfaction in helping people solve their problems in meaningful and adaptive ways. In these unsettled times, a therapeutic support system can be beneficial to all of us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and hopeless coping with life’s challenges, it’s helpful to have someone calm, supportive, and empathetic to listen and provide guidance. Given that everyone is unique, and our lives are complex, I tailor my approach to you and your needs. My goal is to provide an environment that is safe and supportive so that we can work collaboratively to help you reach your goals.

Hello and welcome! I am so glad you are taking the first step of your mental health journey by looking for a therapist. I am here to help. I'm a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) based in California and provide telehealth therapy to people living in California. I received my Master's Degree from California State University, Fresno and have been working with individuals with mental health for six years. Most of my background is in severe and persistent mental health, but also have three years of experience working with clients struggling with substance use. I often integrate different modalities such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychoanalytic, and motivational interviewing into therapy to ensure clients meet their therapeutic goals and become the version of themselves they hope for. I work with adults who experience anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, Bipolar disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and multicultural issues. As an Indian and Middle Eastern American, I emphasize the importance of accessing mental health services for BIPOC communities. I strongly encourage my clients to practice self-care every week and maintain a strong work-life balance. Some of my self-care activities include getting massages, spa days, eating my favorite foods, and spending time with my cats. I believe self-care should be practiced daily, but weekly is a good place to start for clients who have the tendency to put themselves last. I ask my clients to try mindfulness to be present in the here and now. Mindfulness can look different for everyone- I often use the Calm app to listen to meditations and sleep stories when I am falling asleep. Therapy can be life-changing for most and often is not an easy road. I provide my clients with warmth and empathy and use a non-judgmental stance in every session. I help clients promote the changes they want to see in themselves so they can learn how to make life-lasting changes independently. Therapy with me is helpful, meaningful, warm, and easy-going. I take the stance as a cheerleader for my clients and encourage clients to put in extra effort to achieve their goals.

I understand that sometimes life can be challenging and can hinder personal growth, happiness, relationships, quality of life, professional success, parenting among other things. You feel like you are spinning your wheels but not going anywhere. You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, apathetic, sad and/or irritated. You may be surprised to know that there are ways to cope with these feelings so you can grab the reigns and get back on that horse! You want to create meaningful changes but aren’t sure where to start. I believe that the catalyst to that change exists within each of us, sometimes we need a little help to find it. I have experience working with older adults, adults, (teens 17+), veterans, active-duty military and their families, college students, EMS personnel, and caregivers in the treatment of mental health and life transition issues, marital issues, interpersonal issues, deployment, military separation, reunification, divorce, pregnancy, work and school issues, parenting and end of life issues (grief/placement). I can also provide case-management services, life coaching and ESA evaluations/letters.

Here we are. I am honored to take a journey toward health, wellness and spiritual growth with you. The path toward wellness begins daily, we get to do this, and we do not have to do it alone. There is not a human on this planet that is without wounds. What may have started as coping or a mechanism for survival may no longer serve us today? The old narrative that is driven by fear may be impeding our ability to have transformative relationships, a rewarding and exciting career and the mind-body connection that we desire. Let’s go on a retrieval toward the life you would like to engage in. Let’s identify the areas where there is struggle and challenge. Let’s understand the root with nonjudgment and compassion. Let us live fully with the realization that life will always happen on life’s terms. Let's begin again.
