Tendra is nationally certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NCC) to provide mental health counseling to clients. Additionally, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia with a total of 6 years of experience working as a behavioral health counselor in a psychiatric hospital setting and as a family & child therapist in an outpatient counseling center setting that treats couples, children, teens, families, and individuals. Furthermore, Tendra has provided individual counseling and group therapy in a veteran hospital setting and in a school setting over the course of her years in the counseling field. She has had the wonderful opportunity of working with clients with a wide range of issues/problems that have included the areas of depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem & confidence, couples, mood & psychotic disorders, familial & romantic relationships, anger, control, stressors, and trauma (physical, sexual, mental/psychological, emotional, abandonment, neglect, narcissistic abuse, military sexual, & combat). Tendra's approach combines client-centered, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, solution-focused, mindfulness, feminist theory, psychodynamic, acceptance & commitment, and trauma-focused & non-trauma focused therapy. Tendra is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidenced-based therapy modality for treatment of trauma. QHer counseling style is genuine, non-judgmental, strength-based, warm, and respectful; displaying empathy to clients is a must, and she expresses to clients that she cares. Tendra believes in respecting everyone’s opinions and ways of thinking, as everyone comes from different upbringings and have had various life experiences that she believes contributes to their current way of living. She ensures each client has an individualized treatment plan in order to effectively facilitate change. Tendra's goal as your counselor is to treat you with the upmost respect, provide support, express empowerment, and deliver evidenced-based therapies in order for you to meet your goals and help you live in accordance with your values. In our first session, we will do introductions and discuss your history in an effort to set the stage for future sessions.

Tendra's approach combines client-centered, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, solution-focused, mindfulness, feminist theory, psychodynamic, acceptance & commitment, non-trauma focused (client does not talk about the trauma in detail), and trauma focused (the client talks about their trauma in detail).
