Do you find yourself struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, or substance use disorder issues? Are you struggling with traumatic memories and a sense of overwhelm? Maybe your life has taken an unexpected turn and you are left feeling lost, confused, hurt, or even ashamed. Let’s begin walking this journey towards balance, wellness, and renewal together. With extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, and families addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment issues, grief and addictions, I can help. I educate, support, and empower clients to triumph over disabling emotions and negative experiences, and become the primary stakeholders in their journey of healing and growth. I utilize a strength-based approach characterized by empathy, compassion, kindness, and acceptance. I know that seeking therapy can be scary, the gift lies in the opportunity you are giving yourself to learn skills necessary to overcome your challenges and struggles. You will leave with a high sense of resilience, hope, and courage. Let's begin working together towards your journey of healing and positive change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start with brief introductions, clients will be provided with information on informed consent. With warm, empathetic, open-ended questions, clients will be provided the opportunity to discuss their presenting issues. I am aware how difficult self-disclosure can be for some individuals, especially in the first sessions when therapeutic trust is not yet established . Thus, tact, sensitivity, gentleness, warmth, and unconditional positive regards will be utilized to create a safe, non-judgmental, validating space. I go at my clients' pace, allowing their narratives to unfold seamlessly and organically. Empirically-sound clinical interventions that have been proven effective for reducing distressing emotions will be introduced from the first session. Mindfulness interventions will be utilized for grounding and self-soothing of the sympathetic nervous system in order to down-regulate the stress response. Clients will leave their first session feeling heard, validated, comforted, and with a new sense of hope, strength, and resilience.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

With the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), CBT Trauma-focused interventions, solution-focused strategies, principles of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), emotional freedom techniques (tapping), and culturally sensitive interventions, we can collaborate to foster post-traumatic healing, and freedom from symptoms of anxiety, depression, all forms of addictions, and other issues.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My professional strengths include the ability to create a safe, non-judgmental, warm, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, validated, comforted, and supported from the first session, and throughout their treatment duration. Clients will leave sessions with greater self awareness and a sense of personal empowerment. Client will be provided with cognitive and practical tools for managing stressors adaptively.
