What happens when our well-intentioned - yet sometimes uncooperative - brains try to protect us from experiencing harm? Yup, you got it! It's called Stress, also known as Anxiety, and at times it can be quite the nuisance. You are welcome to join me on a journey of knowledge and self-discovery to recognize and appreciate how our brain and bodies have helped us survive the personal challenges and struggles life presents. And then, let's help our brain recognize that, when we are actually safe, we don't need to go into stress mode, and we can learn how to direct Anxiety to take a seat until it is next needed. Often times, Anxiety's friends, Depression and Trauma, love to join the party (uninvited). Together, we can learn to appreciate them as well, while sending them on their way. Along the way, let's tap into a bit of Grace and Self-Compassion. Let's also identify the multitude of Strengths and Resources in place, and use them to move from a Fear-Based response, to one of Courage.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first therapy session is a collaborative process in which you will be invited to share thoughts or questions. It is an opportunity for both the therapist and the client to get to know each other to see if they will be a good fit and how the therapy process may be helpful moving forward.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am a strengths-based therapist who is committed to evidence-based practice. I have a Certification in Neuropsychotherapy (NPT-C) and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. This means that we may explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, the cycle of anxiety, as well as mindfulness techniques, if - and only if - you are on board and comfortable! My style is casual, authentic, and relational, and I value feedback and collaboration, every step of the way.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked well with Students who are stressed. With (Super) Parents who are stressed. With Multicultural Americans who are stressed. With Recent Grads who are stressed. With Women who are stressed. And/or Depressed. Together we learn how to Cope and Recharge. I use assessment techniques to screen for neurodivergence, like ADHD, which is Anxiety's on-again/off-again BFF. I speak Greek and embrace multiculturalism and diversity. I love working with Greeks, and I also equally love working with non-Greeks and other cultures. To accommodate busy lives, my office is open on the weekends, and we can meet in-person or via video/telehealth. Please feel free to reach out and schedule a session so we can talk more. I can't wait to meet you!
