What do you want to change in your life? Hi, my name is Ancquanetta McKinney-Hankerson and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (L.M.H.C). I have experience working with individuals dealing with emotional, cognitive, and substance difficulties. I have collaboratively worked on ways to help them manage their symptoms and maintain some type of balance in their lives. I have also done work in individual, family, and group therapy sessions in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric/substance programs. I have aided individuals in the process of working on ways to piece their life back together so they can get back to the person they recognize. Helping individuals motivate themselves to an improved view of who they are and the world around them can be a difficult, tedious process, but I am willing to help guide the way through to a higher level of self-fulfillment. I have experience working with clients on anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, teen topics, and self-esteem issues. It's a big step to seek help when you are used to certain comfortable behaviors/actions. I applaud you for taking this next step in wanting to make a change that can lead to a more happier and fulfilling life for you. I look forward to working with you. I am ready whenever you are!!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session should be focused on the client being able to ask questions in order to foster a therapeutic bond, gain a personal level of comfortness, and the ability to gain insight into identifying therapeutic goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My therapeutic approach is holistic, which means physical and spiritual health is a huge component in helping individuals feel whole. I attempt therapeutic approaches that are integrative and solution-based on each client’s specific needs. Types of Therapy Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Compassion Focused Culturally Sensitive Emotionally Focused Motivational Interviewing Multicultural Person-Centered Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) Strength-Based

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I want to provide the best level of care to my clients and also provide a challenge in helping them be the person they want to be. Sometimes we need a little tweaking in our daily routines to get us back on track. I realize that in life we get overwhelmed by situations that are unexpected and out of our control. I see my position as one that is to teach/introduce ways of being present and interactive with working at things that are manageable for you. My approach combines cognitive- behavior, humanistic, solution brief-focused, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic counseling. I tailor the approach specifically to your needs.
