Hello, my name is Lynda St-Pierre, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida. I am a dual French-Canadian and American citizen with fluency in both French and English languages. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health industry with people from all walks of life including children and family, teenagers, couples, and adults. My expertise and interest is focused on issues related to the following: stress, depression and anxiety, self esteem, family conflict, emotional disturbances, addiction (including dual diagnosis), substance abuse (drug and alcohol), anger management, grief, codependency, women’s issues, and coping skills. My approach is integrative, which is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and styles to fit the needs of each of my clients. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. My goal is to help guide you through this journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Each session is different and my clients are the ones who set the tone for each of them. I am here to work with the client so it will be important for me to first put them at ease so there can be an easy exchange between us. I often remind my clients that I am only a guide in their journey therefore, they will be put in action to work on the presented issues in their life. With trials and errors, I will be providing my clients all the necessary tools to make them be able to fly on their own before too long. Clients are usually comfortable talking with me as I adapt easily to different type of personalities.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize DBT, CBT, mindfulness based counseling, and client-centered counseling to name only these. Since each session is different I adapt to my client using the appropriate tools to meet their needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

First of all I am an empath meaning that I feel people in their joy and/or pain which help developing a mutual understanding from the first time we meet. I am sensitive to my clients needs and I am told that I have a good ear. I try to dissect all issues starting by what is the most emergent for the well being of my client first. Then we continue working on what they feel need to come second. Remember that I am just a guide who make suggestions. I provide a therapeutic session in a non-judgmental way. I like leaving my client on a happy note and remind them that things will be better soon because they are actively working on improving themselves therefore them.
