Hello, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the State of Virginia. I received my B.A from Norfolk State University (HBCU) (Norfolk, VA) and M.A. from South University (Virginia Beach, VA). I have over 10 years of experience with helping individuals with mood disorders and anxiety. I have witnessed and celebrated many clients make significant positive progress and accomplish their dreams and goals. My counseling style is very interactive, relaxing and peaceful. I share hope and offer compassion throughout the span of treatment. My treatment approach combines Christian Counseling, Cognitive-Behavioral, Client/Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused and Reality Therapy. The interventions and treatment goals will be specifically tailored to your needs. I believe your Mental Health is just as important and valuable as your Spiritual and Physical health. You need all to become a well-balanced human being. I am so happy and proud of you for making the first step for a Better and Healthier You! I look forward to meeting and working with you in this new season.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I generally like to start with Introductions. I find it very helpful and insightful to know you more aside from the presenting problem and also give you an opportunity to ask me important and relevant questions as your new therapist. Then we will discuss expectations of therapy and discuss further on the presenting problems/reasons for therapy. Then we will collaborate with best practices to move forward for the upcoming sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe am great with active listening, expressing care and compassion. I recognize we as humans have different aspects that make us who we are today. So I believe its important to use the Holistic health approach as part of treatment to get know and treat the whole person. I am able to help clients to recognize and connect the reasons to their presenting problems and collaborate with clients with the best solutions designed for them, that's healthy, realistic, reasonable, and relevant to their lifestyle.
