Hello and welcome, I am honored to be a part of your healing journey. I am a licensed professional counselor and I am here to be an ally as you navigate the path of growth and change. I look forward to collaborating with you during this very important time in your life. I have experience with working with individuals with a wide range of concerns from anxiety, depression, career exploration, Bipolar disorder, relationship and communication concerns. I have also helped people process and navigate life after trauma and abuse, including foster and former foster youth. I have also worked with a non-profit and in private practice and have helped clients experiencing mental health crises and homelessness. I believe that treatment on a holistic level is imperative in the healing process and provide resources for my clients that may be in need. My therapy style is warm and inviting and I believe in treating everyone with compassion, respect and dignity. I provide a non-judgmental environment for people to feel heard and valued. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and is dependent on each client, I believe in meeting my client where they are and ensuring they have a tailored treatment that works best for them. It takes courage to ask for help when you have had to be the strong one for so long and I applaud you for taking that step, I am here to go along with you on your journey and empower you to see the best in you. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will gather information and find out what your areas of concern and goals for counseling are, in addition to other things you may feel are important to your treatment. I will ask questions to better understand your perspective and welcome any questions or concerns that you may have as well. Clients can expect me to be an extension of their support system while they are on their healing journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in private practice and as a field based crisis counselor, I have gained the skills to help clients during their time of dire need that includes a holistic approach and I believe in providing a safe space for my clients to be able to work through the things that they feel affect them the most.

My treatment methods

Racial trauma treatment

I validate clients' experiences and help them to navigate their emotions relating to their trauma. I help individuals recognize their strength, in addition to their place in society and be comfortable in the skin that they're in.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I work with individuals to provide a safe space, validate their changes in their life surrounding their trauma and work with clients to help them feel empowered to live their best life. I work with individuals to discover how trauma has affected them and help to identify distortions, challenge them and gain coping skills.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

I assess for risks and risk factors, in addition to assist in challenging thoughts and behaviors leading to thoughts of suicide. I collaborate with clients to recognize triggers, the level of stress attached to triggers, and assist in creating plans and to ensure safety at various risk levels.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I help individuals to recognize and challenge negative self-talk, create a self value inventory and aid in the process of reducing and eliminating repeated negative patterns. I guide clients to finding thoughts and behaviors aligned with the client and their value inventory.
