My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

As a mental health professional, I employ Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to address the unique needs of young children (ages zero to five) and their caregivers who have experienced trauma or face emotional and behavioral challenges. In sessions, I emphasize the importance of the parent-child relationship, utilizing play-based interventions to facilitate communication and understanding. CPP sessions are collaborative, involving both the child and caregiver. I work with caregivers to enhance their awareness of the child's needs, promote attunement, and foster a secure attachment. By incorporating trauma-informed practices and cultural sensitivity, the therapy aims to create a safe space for exploration and healing. The duration of CPP is typically short-term, spanning 12-20 sessions, with a focus on building a secure foundation for the child's emotional well-being. Sessions are tailored to the unique needs of each family, encompassing joint sessions with the child and caregiver, as well as individual sessions as needed. Through the application of CPP, my goal is to strengthen the parent-child bond, provide support for both child and caregiver, and contribute to the overall resilience and mental well-being of the family.

Family Therapy

In my practice, I integrate family therapy to address the interconnected dynamics within familial relationships. Family therapy provides a unique opportunity to explore communication patterns, roles, and conflicts within the family system. I collaborate with all family members to identify strengths, improve communication, and work towards shared goals. Sessions often involve open dialogue, active listening, and the exploration of individual perspectives. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, I encourage family members to express themselves authentically and understand each other's experiences. Through strategic interventions and systemic approaches, I aim to enhance family cohesion and resilience. Family therapy is a collaborative process where each member's unique contribution is valued. I work towards identifying and building on existing family strengths while addressing challenges. The goal is to empower the family to navigate difficulties, improve relationships, and create a healthier, more harmonious family environment.
