There comes a time in our human experience where life seems to come at us fast and cause imbalance. Often times, we struggle to re-gain that balance. We begin to feel stressed, overwhelmed, and frustrated. It may become difficult to express ourselves, maintain friendships, spend quality time with loved ones or do something as simple as getting a good night’s rest. It is during those times that we must summon the courage to seek professional help to navigate through those feelings in hopes of finding our balance. I believe positive, healthy relationships have the power to heal. Through a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship, I will create a space for you to learn, heal, and grow into becoming your highest self and finding your balance. I have experience working with young and wise adults on issues such as depression, anxiety, decision-making, problem-solving, establishing boundaries, and strengthening communication skills. I use various therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of each individual client. I look forward to witnessing your journey to mental wellness!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is widely used to treat various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and stress. The therapy is structured and goal-oriented, often involving collaboration between the therapist and the individual. In a CBT session, I help clients recognize and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and set achievable goals. It is based on the premise that changing negative thought patterns can lead to changes in behavior and emotional well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping individuals develop psychological flexibility, which involves being open, adaptive, and effective in the presence of difficult or unwanted thoughts and feelings. ACT aims to promote acceptance of these experiences rather than attempting to control or eliminate them.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It is a time-limited and collaborative method that emphasizes the client's strengths and resources. The therapist and client work together to identify and amplify the client's existing skills and capabilities to achieve their desired outcomes. In SFBT, I typically ask solution-focused questions to help clients envision a future where their issues are resolved. The approach is future-focused and aims to create a positive change in a relatively short period. It often involves setting specific and achievable goals, and the therapist and client collaboratively explore steps to reach those goals.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach that aims to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about behavior change. It is often used in healthcare settings, addiction treatment, and various behavioral interventions. The primary goal is to evoke and strengthen an individual's motivation for positive change. In a practical sense, I use open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to facilitate conversation and guide the client toward recognizing and addressing their ambivalence. The approach is collaborative, and the focus is on empowering the individual to find their own motivation for change.
