Hello! I am an Army veteran, military spouse, and clinical social worker. My background experience as a mental health clinician to active duty military and their families, psychiatric hospitals, forensic social work and victim advocate. During my sessions my goal is to create the space to safely process, without judgement, and nurture the courage to be imperfect. I believe that challenges and changes occur to give individuals opportunities to examine their lives and draw from their inner strength the ability to redirect their life’s path. Obstacles are only opportunities for your future.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is truly a meet-n-greet to get to know each other. It is important that 'you' the client feel comfortable working with me. Creating a safe space for clients and therapist allows for growth and healing. Expectations will be discuss and a treatment plan created.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Listening to my clients and ensuring we both are understanding each other. I strive to empower my clients and get them to regain confidence in themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Instead of having someone identify and tell client of possible issues I work with clients during conversations. The conversations allow each individual to slow down situations and themselves identify how certain behaviors are linked to emotions/feelings connected to actions.

Compassion Focused

Sometimes we are our biggest critics and are last to show ourselves love or compassion. Refocusing on why you are worth time, self-care and compassion allows individuals to fully be themselves and enjoy life. Taking slow steps to give yourself permission to care/love self without the guilt.

Motivational Interviewing

During conversations with clients motivational interviewing is utilized to see where they are with the change they may seek. Sometimes individuals say they want change but are not fully ready to start the process. Motivational interviewing helps to identify any barriers and problem-solve to help clients acheive self-determined goal.

Strength-Based

Focusing on individuals' strengths allows them to gain the confidence to improve or face difficult topics or changes. Everyone has strengths, but sometimes it may be difficult to focus on them when you feel like you are in a storm. I help shine a light on them, so you can move forward.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes clients only require a few check-in sessions to focus on a solution to a problem. Respecting clients wishes to not dive into the "whys" but assist to broaden perspectives and ways to solve issues.
