Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My core strengths as a provider lie in my genuine warmth, unwavering interest, genuine care, and inherent curiosity. These qualities empower me to make significant contributions in two pivotal ways. Firstly, I naturally embody the role of a compassionate caregiver, bringing forth a calming, supportive, and comforting interpersonal style. This inherent disposition instills a sense of safety and trust in those I work with. Secondly, my insatiable thirst for knowledge, coupled with an intense curiosity about human experiences and our place in the universe, propels me to deeply understand my clients. This drive fuels my commitment to acquiring the best information and employing effective approaches, ultimately assisting them in creating a more manageable and fulfilling life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

We all have problems! Life is challenging, and as humans, we are presented with exceedingly difficult decisions and dilemmas regularly. Let’s face it: Most of us struggle with some level of anxiety and/or depression, and as a result, many could benefit from having regular conversations with a skilled professional. I’ve been working in the behavioral healthcare field for nearly 20 years, so I’m experienced working with many issues. I enjoy helping people struggling with everyday problems, existential crises, and relationship issues. I am also well-equipped to serve clients navigating more serious challenges, such as those related to trauma, PTSD, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and substance use disorders. My experience, warmth, and therapeutic approach center on creating a safe and empathetic space for individuals facing a wide-range of complex issues. While supporting my clients and offering various interventions and strategies to manage concerns, I also focus on fostering resilience, strength, and meaning as we collaboratively work toward healing and positive life changes.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a therapeutic approach that aims to enhance psychological flexibility by promoting acceptance, mindfulness, values clarification, and committed action. It can be used to address a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and other conditions where rigid thought patterns and avoidance behaviors may be problematic.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is a structured and goal-oriented approach that aims to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and more.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

CAMS is a therapeutic framework designed to assess and manage suicidal risk in a collaborative and client-centered manner. It provides a structured and systematic approach to suicide risk assessment and management, fostering a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship that focuses directly on the reasons a person may be struggling with thoughts of suicide and places emphasis on directly treating the drivers of suicidality.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with acceptance strategies and focuses on helping individuals build skills for managing emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and developing a life worth living. DBT has been found effective for various conditions, including borderline personality disorder, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and mood disorders.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based practices are widely used in therapy to promote mental well-being, reduce stress, and enhance overall psychological functioning. These practices are rooted in mindfulness, which involves intentionally paying attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and without judgment. Mindfulness-based psychotherapies can address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and chronic pain. These practices aim to enhance self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, and promote a more mindful and compassionate approach to one's inner experiences.
