Hello, my name is Patricia Watlington, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I have experience in providing Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, tailored for all ages, from children to adults. With years of dedicated service in behavioral health, I provide comprehensive care solutions designed to meet individual mental wellness goals. My approach is rooted in empathy and a commitment to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can overcome trauma and mental health challenges.
My approach is to be in a collaborative team with the you. This means that during our first session together we will explore what is important to you and what aligns with your values. We will get an understanding of what life will look like when you feel that therapy has worked. We'll use this knowledge to create a goal for our first session. You will take the lead and I will guide you as the therapist on your journey to mental wellness.
I institute deeply empathetic and ethical practices to offer personalized therapies and psychoeducation aligned with individual goals and concerns, promoting mental wellness for all.
I started private therapy practice with a vision to help people to develop a true sense of holistic well-being. I work with people where they are in their life and work on goals to achieve their desired outcomes. I have worked with individuals with serious mental illness, trauma, anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. I've also worked with some special populations that are experiencing the above challenges that are justice involved, crisis involved, and/or trauma victims to help them know their worth enough to break those cycles.
My approach is to be in a collaborative team with the client incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and person centered as appropriate. Life can be challenging and having someone in your corner helping to guide you, listen to you with unconditional positive regard is powerful when it comes to mental wellness. Allowing the client to lead when they are ready to work through certain topics and develop goals that they feel they can achieve. This team helps to build a very strong therapeutic relationship and outcomes tend to be better. I like to focus on the polyvagal system to help understand how the body can be used for us or against us. Understanding this allows us to manipulate the way we think and behave so we can be more productive in situations where we are experiencing challenges and knowing how to cope with them.
