Hey there! Do you have some baggage that needs to be let go? Have you been carrying everyone else's baggage for too long? It's time to drop it off and walk away a lighter and happier you! You already possess everything you need to heal yourself. You just need the tools, the confidence, and skills to actually put some things down. This is carried out by asking thought-provoking questions, and most importantly, a seasoned therapist like myself guiding you, listening, and holding the space for you to be vulnerable and let go! I will join you on the ride to identify what areas need to be discussed first, and we will go at your own pace. My approach to counseling operates from a strength base approach to help you recognize your strengths within yourself and develop self-awareness that will lead you to your goals through active involvement, as well as efforts to change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Sometimes change is easy and quick and others it is slow and deliberate. No matter the speed or length of time, I will be supporting you to make the changes in your life that bring you happiness and growth. Let's get started!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then we'll dive into the intake! This will primarily be focused on some challenges that you have been struggling with recently and how you would like you life to look differently. By asking these questions I can create a customized plan for both of us to work on for each session after.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in various settings and various levels of care throughout my career as a professional counselor while offering support to people individually and in a group setting. I am experienced in working in a classroom setting with children from age 6 to 18 years old that displayed conduct disorders or attention disorders. I work with substance abuse clients ranging from a MAT program to individual substance abuse therapy. Lastly, I have extensive experience in an outpatient setting with all ages with all diagnoses ranging from: anxiety, depression, bipolar, psychosis, PTSD, grief, attachment issues, and OCD.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is essentially a modified form of cognitive behavioral therapy. The main areas I use this in my sessions are to help people live for the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, learn how to regulate their emotions, and improve all relationships in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is the backbone of all therapy. I use CBT to help explain to each client how every thought can lead to a feeling. I will ultimately help you examine your thoughts and beliefs. This results in allowing me to reveal how your distorted thoughts can directly lead to negative feelings. By putting in this work, thought patterns change, and this will lead you to happy and healthier feelings.
