Hello! Welcome! I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the complexities of sex, intimacy, dating and relationship(s). I offer a sex-positive, life-affirming approach to therapy. I welcome people of every ability, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, and gender identity. I am competent and enjoy working with the queer, ENM/Poly and Kink communities. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and align with WPATH standards of care.
In our first session, I would like to obtain a clear understanding of your challenges. We will then create meaningful goals for our work together.
My professional, academic, and personal experiences give me in depth knowledge in my areas of specialization. This allows my clients to feel safe and deeply understood while discussing their challenges with me.
My post graduate training includes a rigorous sex therapy program, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness. As an AASECT certified sex and relationship therapist, I help individuals heal attachment injuries caused by mismatched sexual desire, out of control sexual behavior, and infidelity/betrayal. I assist those struggling with sexual pain and sexual dysfunction. I also work with people in recovery from complex PTSD/developmental trauma (including sexual abuse) and the possible after affects of substance misuse and other addictions.
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the complexities of sex, intimacy, dating and relationship(s). I am certified by The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and prioritize the cultivation of secure emotional bonds within relationships.
EMDR is a therapy intended to help people clear past traumas in order to feel more present, satisfied, and effective in their current lives.
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in the client's present behavior. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior.
Narrative therapy is a collaborative counseling method that helps people separate from their problems by reframing their life stories. It's based on the idea that people are the experts in their own lives and are separate from their issues. Therapists work with clients to re-author their problem stories, helping them to live according to their values and goals. Narrative therapy is grounded in feminist, anthropological, and multicultural theories.
