Most importantly I am a good listener. If I do not understand, I will ask. I believe in becoming uncomfortable to accept growth and change. I am patient and kind, but I will hold you accountable if necessary. I am here for you. This applies to both young adults and adults. I will do my best to understand what your needs are in order and develop a treatment plan based on that order: emotional, physical, reminders, etc... and how to be ready to move through the week ahead. A goal or an intention or again whatever word you will choose to use will be set, as to see success in small steps.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then slowly work together to understand what challenges you're facing. This will help us to create a tailored plan to work through together in our up-coming sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in this field for over 10 years I have been able to work with many different populations of people and have been able to help many achieve their goals. I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. Which you will be able to see in your individualized treatment plan. Along with empathy, care and understanding my best strength is being able to help those in need.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults/ young adults who are in any stage of there lives that need help moving forward, needing motivation or a life change, big or small. My clients hope to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make there goals a reality or may not even understand what goals they need. They may often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about whatever may be going on in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I approach CBT in this manor, CBT is about working on connecting your thoughts to your actions. While working on the connection process, you have a chance to set small goals or intentions. While working together you will discover whatever words you choose to motivate you. Creating situations for success are necessary. Setting goals and intentions are a part of the process, however talk therapy and working on the here and now are what you can practice sometimes becomes a better motivation tool. This also goes for the teen popluation.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a woman born of two races, I have witnessed first hand the struggle that this world can have on a person if they do not fit into the mold of what society expects. My approach is to emphasize sensitivity and understand your background and belief system as it relates to your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or other important elements that make up your culture and/or identity.
