Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with extensive experience in helping individuals navigate grief, trauma, and life transitions. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. My work focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based care, including EMDR therapy, to individuals facing disenfranchised bereavement, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Through Healing Pathways Counseling, I offer personalized support to help clients build resilience and find healing. Additionally, I am actively involved in community outreach, professional education, and advocacy efforts related to suicide prevention and grief support

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session at Healing Pathways Counseling & Consulting, you can expect a warm, compassionate environment focused on understanding your concerns and goals. The counselor will take time to gather information about your personal history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. You’ll also discuss the counseling process, set expectations, and begin exploring strategies tailored to your needs. This session is an opportunity to build trust and create a foundation for your healing journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy used to help individuals process and heal from trauma. It involves recalling distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, which helps the brain reprocess traumatic experiences and reduce emotional distress. EMDR is widely recognized as an effective treatment for PTSD and other trauma-related conditions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used, evidence-based treatment that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It focuses on developing coping strategies to manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, and stress by promoting healthier thinking and behavior. CBT is goal-oriented, structured, and effective for a variety of mental health conditions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop coping skills. It is particularly effective for conditions such as borderline personality disorder, self-harm, and emotional dysregulation. DBT emphasizes skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals cope with the emotional, physical, and psychological effects of loss. It provides support in processing grief, adapting to life changes, and finding meaning after loss. Techniques may include talk therapy, cognitive restructuring, and mindfulness to facilitate healing and adjustment. Grief therapy is beneficial for those experiencing complicated or prolonged grief.
