Hello! First, starting therapy is an act of courage, and I am so glad you are honoring your needs by seeking support. I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counsellor (LPCC) and yoga teacher based in Minnesota. I received my Masters in Counseling from Adler Graduate School and have been practicing therapy for 10 years. I specialize in helping Highly Sensitive People (HSP's) and emerging adults struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem challenges, and emotion regulation. As a fellow Highly Sensitive Person, I understand the unique challenges of navigating an oftentimes overstimulating world. I combine my personal experiences with professional expertise to create a compassionate and empowering space for reflection and growth. My approach combines mindfulness, therapeutic yoga, self-compassion, brainspotting and evidence-based techniques to empower my clients to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and create fulfilling lives.
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and building trust. I'll ask questions to understand your background, current struggles, and goals for therapy. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy and explore any areas where you’d like support. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing openly. Together, we will discuss the therapeutic approach that best fits your needs and begin to explore how we can work toward the changes you’re hoping to see.
My clients often describe my approach as warm, compassionate, and casual, creating a safe space where they feel heard and supported. I strive to build strong, trusting relationships, and my clients appreciate my ability to provide empathy and understanding while also offering gentle guidance. I believe in the power of humor to lighten the mood when appropriate, which helps make challenging moments in therapy feel a bit more manageable (yes, you can share Tik Toks with me!). My goal is always to meet you where you are and help you move toward growth at a pace that feels right for you.
Mindfulness in therapy involves helping clients develop awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment without judgment. This practice fosters a deeper connection to oneself, reduces stress, and builds resilience. Mindfulness techniques can include breathwork, meditation, therapeutic yoga and grounding exercises.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps clients embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them. By focusing on values-based action, ACT encourages individuals to identify what matters most to them and take meaningful steps toward their goals, even in the presence of difficult emotions or experiences.
I am a Level 2 Certified Brainspotting clinician. Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that uses the brain-body connection to process and release deep-seated emotional or physical trauma. By identifying specific eye positions, or "brainspots," connected to distressing memories or sensations, this method helps clients access and heal unresolved issues at a deeper level.
Compassion-Focused Therapy helps individuals cultivate self-compassion and reduce self-criticism, fostering emotional healing and resilience. By understanding how the brain responds to stress and shame, clients learn to develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves. CFT integrates mindfulness, guided imagery, and emotional regulation strategies to build inner strength and foster a sense of safety and balance.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that helps clients understand and integrate their inner world by exploring different "parts" of themselves, such as their inner critic or protector. By fostering curiosity and compassion for these parts, clients can identify their core "Self," a calm, confident inner resource capable of leading the healing process. IFS encourages self-awareness, emotional balance, and deeper understanding, helping clients resolve internal conflicts and live more authentically.
