Welcome, my name is Madi and thank you for reading my profile! Taking the first step to begin therapy can be an intimidating process. My goal is to help support my clients through this process by creating an open, safe environment, while also empowering them on their therapeutic journey. Whether you are experiencing an unexpected life challenge or working through anxiety/depression, together we can build the tools you need to succeed. My passion is working with adolescents and young adults, including people with cognitive disabilities. However, I do love working with people of all ages and backgrounds. If you believe we would be a good team, I would love the opportunity to briefly meet over the phone or on a video call! All individuals from all backgrounds are welcome!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be a chance for me to have a better understanding of what makes you, you! It can be seen as "the big picture." It is important to remember this is all at your own pace and discrepancy. After the first session, together we will begin to create achievable and measurable goals to help guide us through the process. Each session, I will meet you where you are at whether that looks like something you need to process from earlier in the week or maybe continuing to learn skills to enhance your quality of life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

-cognitive behavioral therapy -dialectical behavioral therapy -trauma-informed approach -strengths perspective -Person-in-environment -mindfulness techniques

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One approach that I believe is critical to help people find relief and take back control of their thoughts is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is an approach used to help understand the chain reaction between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Once having this understanding, we can begin to learn skills to shift our irrational thoughts and maladaptive behaviors. I often can weave CBT into most of my sessions given any circumstances because of how helpful it can be for each client. Additionally, in my practice, I enjoy incorporating unique mental exercises through teletherapy to help solidify understanding of concepts/skills and in the hopes of making therapy a fun experience!
