I have experience working in treatment, community, group, and correctional settings with adolescents, young adults, and adults. Primary clinical approaches include evidence-based therapies focused on generating behavioral results. I have an in-depth understanding of the mental health issues that arise from incarceration and the stressors associated with navigating the post-incarceration process. I specialize in working with complex behavioral issues such as: conduct disorders, addition, sexual behavioral problems, and personality disorders. Other issues I specialize in include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and adolescent, young adult, and transitional issues.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session we will review current issues and discuss ideal outcomes and goals for the future. Together, we will collaborate to create a treatment plan that is specific and focused on creating behavioral change. Throughout therapy you will learn the skills to overcome your issues but also gain insight about your past allowing you to create long term change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In session, you will feel encouraged and supported, but you will also be appropriately challenged. The decision to come to therapy can be overwhelming, especially when current approaches are not successful. If you are results-oriented and are willing and open to challenge yourself I encourage you to contact me. I am currently accepting new clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that the goal of therapy is to address the problem by exploring how the issue developed and creating a specific plan to move forward. In session, you will feel encouraged and supported, but you will also be appropriately challenged. These challenges may cause you to feel uncomfortable, but it is important to remember that, through discomfort, comes change. I am a firm believer that most of the progress and change happens outside of the session. Therefore, I rely heavily on homework assignments, skills development, and community resources. During the intake session, we can talk more about specific techniques that are most helpful for you.
