The complexities of life can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming. In some instances, emotional pain can be just as debilitating as physical pain which can impact one’s ability to function mentally, socially, and professionally. One of the greatest rewards for me is witnessing the positive outcomes of providing holistic care for patients who have suffered from various mental disorders. Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I worked as a Registered Nurse in several specialties in acute inpatient and outpatient settings. During this time I discovered my passion for seeking positive change in the lives of those suffering from mental illness.
I am an ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides treatment for ages 6 to 65+ years of age. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with patients and their families to achieve their optimum mental health goals through medication management and therapy. I specialize in treating various psychiatric disorders that might include depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorder, anxiety disorder, PTSD, sleeping disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, various personality disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders.
During each session, I focus on the individual needs of my patient by implementing a plan of care that will be specific and unique for them. Everyone's journey in life is different and because of this the treatment methods and tools that I utilize will often vary from person to person.
My greatest strength as a provider is treating all my patients with compassion, empathy, dignity, and respect.
