I am an outpatient therapist with experience working with individuals, families, and group therapy. Whether facing a short-term situational obstacle or years of navigating anxiety, low self-worth, being in survival mode, confusing relationships, and/or past trauma - with validation and compassionate feedback, we will explore together. At times the answers may be simple. New coping skills, reframing a situation, or just having a safe place to tell your story. Or maybe the answers are more complex and lead to a deeper dive into the root cause of distress. I may not have met you, but I believe in your capabilities, accept your choices, and respect you as a thoughtful and intelligent person.
In our first session we will focus on what brings you to therapy and what goals you have during your time in and outside of sessions. I will ask you questions to help gain a picture of past, present, and future you. If we have time, we will discuss different options for meeting your needs such as utilizing EMDR or using therapy to collaborate on how to navigate a current obstacle.

A theme that moves through many sessions is finding one's own version of empowerment. There is a lot out there, internal and external, that can feel like it takes our power away. Finding groundedness, self-appreciation, clarity, internal contentment in the solidness of your personal values - can help in seeking self-empowerment. You may carry with you a belief, based on messages you received from past experiences, of being unlovable, not good enough, undeserving, a burden, worthless, or incapable. You may have then gathered evidence throughout your life to back up these limiting belief systems. These are false beliefs, and ones that we can identify, have compassion for, and begin to shift towards greater truth and contentment.
I currently work with adult clients 18 years and older.

Heather is great in too many ways to count. My therapist is an exceptional listener who intuitively understands my needs. She creates a warm, supportive environment and brings a high level of intelligence and insight to every session. Time always flies when I’m with her, and I always wish our sessions could be longer.
