Hello! My name is John Craig. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I aim to offer you a safe and secure setting with the resources that can help you work through and overcome mental health problems. While I specialize in PTSD and Trauma, I also work with adults helping them overcome depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and other psychological problems that interfere with living a happier and more fulfilling life. My counseling approach is warm, nonjudgmental, client-centered and empathetic. I employ a range of science-based treatment methods. If you feel you are ready for a change, please contact me for an initial consultation to help determine if we are a good fit and to establish an initial therapy session. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I John Craig, LCSW

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My initial session is a time for us to get to know each other better and for you to feel more comfortable with me and the therapeutic process, while helping me begin to articulate a tailored plan just for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While the mainstay of my therapy involves a person-centered, Rogerian approach using effective techniques, such as Motivational Interviewing, my biggest strength is building rapport and trust and offering resources that have a foundation proven to be effective. Having worked with a wide variety of mental health problems, I bring expertise to your therapy. I also have specialized training and skills in dealing with trauma victims - using a proven method of psychotherapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in and enjoy working with those suffering from the consequences of childhood trauma to help them overcome the past and renew their lives without the anxiety and hypervigilance that trauma can induce. I also specialize in grief therapy and helping clients process and work through the stages of grief.
