I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Arizona, with nine years of experience specializing in helping adults navigate past traumas, anxiety, imposter syndrome, and compassion fatigue. My passion lies in supporting individuals who serve others, whether as parents, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, or caregivers. My goal is to provide a space where you can rejuvenate and recharge, empowering you to overcome challenges and find greater peace and fulfillment in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

When we meet I would like to get some history about you and then learn about what brought you here.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients often seek me out for my attentive and informal approach to therapy. I strive to create a comfortable environment where clients feel at ease being themselves. Many appreciate my genuine and down-to-earth style, often infused with humor and enriched with philosophical insights.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR aims to reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories by facilitating the natural healing process of the brain. By focusing on the traumatic memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, clients can reprocess and reframe these memories, leading to decreased emotional distress and improved mental health. I utilize EMDR with most of my clients.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT aims to increase psychological flexibility, which is the ability to stay in contact with the present moment and choose behaviors that align with one's values. This approach is particularly effective for treating anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, and other mental health issues by helping individuals build a rich, full, and meaningful life while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. I find ACT to be comprehensive and reality focused.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that conceptualizes the mind as made up of multiple, distinct parts, each with its own thoughts, emotions, and roles. I have been working with IFS for over three years, and I tend to utilize it with anyone doing EMDR. The goal of IFS therapy is to help individuals recognize and understand their internal parts, which often include wounded or burdened parts and protective parts that attempt to shield the individual from pain. Through this process, clients learn to access their core Self and use its strengths to heal and harmonize their internal system, leading to improved emotional well-being and resilience.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This type of therapy is a goal-oriented and future-focused therapeutic approach that emphasizes finding solutions rather than exploring problems. I find it complimentary to other treatment modalities.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is particularly useful for individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or other adverse experiences that have impacted their ability to form healthy relationships. By addressing and healing these attachment wounds, clients can achieve greater emotional stability, improved relationships, and overall well-being. I incorporate Attachment based with Inner Child work. I like to combine it with EMDR.
