What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Signing up for counseling might feel intimidating if you have never seen a therapist before. It is not unusual for someone to be nervous about contacting a therapist and making an appointment; you might not know what to expect. You may be worried that the interactions will be awkward or intimidating, which can cause anxiety. In the first two weeks, we will be in the Orientation phase and Identification phase. In these phases we are going to be building rapport and discussing what your goals are. I tend to ask a lot of questions in this phase and at times it might seem disjointed but I always want to make sure I really understand the layers and complexities. The next phase is the Working phase and this is where we get the work done! The last phase is resolution and saying goodbye.
