Hi! I'm so glad you're here. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I obtained my Masters degree from the University of Central Florida, and began my professional career at a non-profit counseling center while I worked towards licensure. I moved to North Carolina and maintained my credentials while raising my young children, and am now able to serve clients again. I'm excited to offer support to clients working on achieving their goals and improving their mental health. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for all, and allow clients to discuss and explore any concerns they may have regarding their mental health, whether it's anxiety, depression, women's issues, or self-care. I am here to support you, and offer a sounding board in which we work through those blocks you have, and strive towards personal development, whatever that looks for you. This is a judgment-free space, where we can talk about anything--this is your time. When I am not seeing clients, I love to spend time with my family, or work on my next novel. Can't wait to meet you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will give brief introductions, review the intake form you completed with intake paperwork, and then dive right into the issues you're experiencing and your personal goals for counseling. I'm here to support you, and you are in the driver's seat! We will discuss frequency of sessions and come up with a simple framework for upcoming appointments that works best for you. I want clients to be comfortable and feel supported. If during this session either one of us feels that it's not a great fit, I'm happy to refer you to another clinician. A good fit is extremely important in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a counselor are definitely empathy and understanding. I want my clients to feel confident that they're speaking with someone trustworthy, who is on their side. I'm not afraid to challenge beliefs that a client may hold that aren't benefitting them, and gently give space for the client to grow.

My treatment methods

Integrative

Rather than restrict myself and my clients' process, I am open to many forms of therapeutic practice with the idea to offer the best option and individualistic attention to every client seen. I naturally gravitate towards Person-Centered therapy, as the core of my practice is providing a safe space and support. I'm able to utilized various treatment methods, depending on client needs and what the moment calls for.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In our sessions, I use Person-Centered Therapy to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and understood. My focus is on providing a warm and non-judgmental environment so you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings. I believe that you have the inner strength and wisdom to find your own solutions, and my role is to support you on that journey. During our time together, I listen with empathy and offer unconditional positive regard, which means I accept you just as you are. This approach helps build a strong, trusting relationship where you feel safe to express yourself. We work at your pace, and I’m here to help you uncover your own insights and make the changes you desire. By focusing on your unique experiences and fostering a genuine connection, we create a therapeutic space that encourages growth, healing, and self-discovery. My goal is to support you in finding your path to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
