I serve ages 10 to 70 as this is where I feel most confident in my training and experiences across a wide variety of therapeutic settings. I have a significant background working with teens and adults who are on the spectrum and specialize in Exposure Response Prevention with OCD. I work from where the client is at and what their life needs are to build a strong foundation for where they are going in life.
In my first session I will talk with you about strengths and things that you enjoy and then ask about what brings you in for services. I will review expectations and what I can offer during treatment and also give a brief synopsis of who I am and what brought me into the counseling world.
In the 20 years I have been working I have worked across so many different settings and this has given me a unique view on different ways of supporting clients. I myself am diagnosed with OCD and Anxiety and I know what it is like to have to share things with someone new and that we have to build a trusting relationship to make that work for you.
I will focus on where you are and what you need in life. I love trying out new techniques and using real world experiences to enhance services. I strive to focus on using your strengths to take those from being recognized to utilized.
I pull from ACT, CBT, DBT, Narrative, and Person Centered focuses to meet clients where they are at in their life. I find that engaging clients based on their individual needs is always the best way to approach life challenges and barriers.
