Hello! I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I have 35+ years working with people. I practice in Connecticut as well as Maine. I earned my masters degree at Walden University. I enjoy working with adults and older adults that are experiencing challenges in their lives. This is accomplished though providing support while they work through the challenge using evidenced based practice, and medication, as well as talk therapy or both.
our first session, we will start with a brief introduction, and then explore the specific reasons for your visit and the challenges that are bothering you the most. We will brainstorm together and develop a plan of care. This will allow us to work on specific issues and monitor through follow up sessions
Having had alot of experience talking to people, I feel i bring a nonjudgemental, empathetic and positive view to approaching challenges that we all face in our lives at one time or another.
I enjoy working with adults who are struggling and need to talk, medication management, or need to learn the tools need to make improvements in their mental health lives, or relationships
I identify as
Compassion Focused
sometimes putting the focus on strengths instead of weakness helps push us forward. Doing this in a compassionate, nonjudgemental empathetic way can allow a patient to feel safe to approach issues, explore the effects on their lives acknowledge them and leave them behind.allowing them to live a more happy and satisfying life.

Such a lovely experience talking to Janet. She is very relatable and not judgmental at all. Super easy to feel comfortable talking with her. Being my first time seeking therapy I was sooooo nervous, but that feeling disappeared very quickly. Highly recommend!

Had my first introductory appointment with Janet. It was a great first meeting, just talking about my history and what I'm looking to get out of treatment. It was a very casual, free flowing conversation. Janet seems genuinely interested in her patient's and it was very clear she was actively listening and thinking about my answers. She gave some insights and also some things for me to think about moving towards our next appointment which I am looking forward too.
