Welcome! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I'm a child and adolescent specialist, but I also have extensive experience working with adults. My approach is empathetic, warm, authentic, straightforward, and nonjudgmental. The goal of my practice is to provide a safe space of acceptance and unconditional positive regard that will help you build a stronger sense of empowerment and self-love. I can offer guidance, assist with gaining a better understanding of issues, and help you develop strategies to manage whatever problem you're facing. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, and body image issues. But I believe the true expert in treatment is you! I hope to have the opportunity to work alongside you on your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will focus on getting to know you by collecting some brief history, learning about your interests, understanding your perspective of the challenges your facing, and developing goals for our work together. I will answer any questions you have about the therapy process and hopefully be able to ease any nerves or hesitation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm naturally warm and empathetic, which helps me to easily connect and build strong therapeutic relationships. I'm confident and comfortable with myself and my abilities, which allows me to show my authentic self and put others at ease. I have 20+ years of knowledge and experience helping others, and have developed an extensive mental library of tools and strategies to address most challenges. I'm extremely patient, understanding, nonjudgement, and not easily rattled. I have a calm demeanor but I'm also direct and challenging, which my clients appreciate.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I’ve been using attachment-based treatment for 10+ years to help clients explore how their early attachment experiences are contributing to difficulties in current romantic, friendship, and family relationships. Attachment therapy can help to heal childhood wounds and empower you to develop healthy attachments in your current relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for 10+ years to help clients understand exactly how their thoughts are influencing their feelings and behaviors. I can use CBT to help you identify and restructure the negative thought patterns and core beliefs contributing to issues of anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, trauma, etc.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I’m a DBT trained therapist and have been using these strategies for 10+ years to help clients regulate their overwhelming emotions, cope with stress, reduce the impact of trauma, improve relationships, manage impulsivity, and reduce suicidal ideation and/or self-harming behaviors. With DBT, I can teach you numerous strategies to help you gain a sense of control over your difficult emotions and life stressors. DBT has been especially useful for teens and young adults.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered treatment is the foundation of my practice and is used to guide my approach with all clients. I use this method to develop a strong, secure therapeutic alliance with clients and create a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment based on empathy and unconditional positive regard. This will allow you to feel heard, understood, validated, and empower you to gain confidence and control over life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Do you have a specific issue you need support with, but feel hesitant about making an emotional commitment to therapy? I’ve been utilizing solution focused treatment strategies for 15+ plus years to help clients target specific issues and goals by developing effective strategies and coping skills. I can use this approach to help you feel empowered and help uncover the strengths, abilities, and resources you posses to tackle whatever problem you’re experiencing. Let’s figure this out together!
