Whoever thought you could feel so alone in a world so big? While we all face similar problems, the impact can be so different. Hello! My name is Veronica Mial, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in North Carolina. Over the past ten years, I have worked with individuals and families within vulnerable populations including but not limited to those who have faced issues such as homelessness, addiction, and other trauma. Whether you are dealing with transition and change in life, struggling with implementing boundaries, or other common issues such as self-doubt, depression, or anxiety, my goal is to work with you to identify the sources of these feelings and determine a course of action to best address these issues. I am here to provide a safe space and a fresh perspective for individuals who are open to a person-centered approach. I believe in being intentional with our therapeutic approaches to ensure that it is specific and unique to your individual needs. My goal is to not make any decisions for you but to work with you and provide the necessary tools and support to help you navigate through this thing called life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will work together to identify what your goals are for counseling. I will take the time to learn about what approaches or either helpful or unhelpful for you. I truly believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist, thus will always provide the space for feedback, questions or other insight.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Person-centered therapy also known as client-centered therapy, promotes a safe climate in which the therapist is empathetic and nonjudgmental and allows you the space to freely discuss your challenges, and concerns while working to create an approach that is effective for you. I also utilize a humanistic approach that encourages the use of empathy, altruism, intuition, creativity and humility. I seek to provide a space that is conducive to openness and complete acceptance and understanding.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

After over 8 years of working with men, women, young adults and children within the homeless population, and 5 years as an EAP counselor, I have experience with providing support for individuals who may be navigating through various phases of life, while struggling with different concerns. I work with individuals who are working towards creating healthy boundaries in every aspect of their life, from intimate relationships to family relationships and workplace settings. I work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety and individuals struggling with life change.
