Hi there, I am Tina.. Do you struggle to have strong connections with loved ones, to progress in your life and career? Sometimes you might find that you are tired, struggling to motivate, feel keyed up, react defensively, or use alcohol to relax. Memories of past experiences may find their way into your mind only to distract and create distress. It’s likely you understand what is going on but feel overwhelmed about how to change it or worse, you have tried but haven’t been able to make significant or longstanding changes. This can leave you discouraged and the subject of your inner critic. My philosophy is that you are the expert in your experience and I have expertise supporting people with navigating through experiences so this will form the foundation of the work we do. Many people have the misconception that you must dig relentlessly into the past to release the pain or the limiting beliefs and though the past informs our current approach to life, we only want to explore as much as it takes to release the chains. With the advancement in therapeutic approaches including Emotional Freedom Techniques, Energy Psychology approaches and Internal Family Systems, we can compassionately address the pain you carry without rehashing it over and over again. Often times, people can achieve a sense of relief rapidly and results are sustained when using these approaches.
In our first session, I will gather information about your history of accessing therapy resources, how you have managed your concerns and symptoms, and what you would like to gain from our work together. Many sessions will have you leaving with 2-3 points to ponder or skills to practice. I often will provide YouTube, book and website references that you can access between sessions to reinforce the work we do together. Sessions are interactive, I strongly believe that you are coming into this process and expecting to be gently but firmly challenged. You can expect that I am NOT the therapist that just sits and nods, I won't give you advice because I don't have to live that choice but I will offer feedback and support you with exploring options and with identifying blocks.
My primary therapeutic approaches included Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping); Energy Psychology Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Techniques, Internal Family System strategies, reflective listening, humor, mindfulness strategies, and writing prompts. As I mentioned before, I also will often send YouTube videos, book and website recommendations that you can access between sessions.
My biggest strength is that I do NOT assume that I am an expert in your experience, I know my place. I honor that you allow me to be part of your journey. I fully acknowledge that we are all in our own process of growth and that I live in a glass house. This all translates to the creation of a no judgement zone.
