Hello! Hola! My name is Alejandrina (Aly). I ‘am the daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico. Connecting with my culture, roots and ancestral practices has been a core part of my development as a psychotherapist. It is important for me to create a space where people feel like they belong but most importantly that they know their story matters. I want my clients to believe they can find their own healing within themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will review intake forms and complete a biopsychosocial assessment. This will give us an opportunity to learn if we can work together and what you would like to work on. Building trust is not easy to establish during the first session, therefore my goal is to provide you with a safe space where you can feel comfortable and at ease.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I genuinely believe my clients have the ability to overcome difficulties in life. I've had the opportunity to meet clients form all walks of life. It's been a privilege to have clients trust me and show their vulnerabilties in session. This is truly when I see the change happen for my clients. I hold a space without judgment that allows me to authentically connect with my clients. I'm very empowering and compassionate in my approach.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have 12 years of experience utilizing this effective treatment modality. I have found CBT to be useful with issues like anxiety, depression and trauma. The focus will be to change unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors, improve emotional regulation, and create coping skills to solve problematic problems.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Through person-centered I offer support, guidance and structure to enable the client to discover their own personal solutions to their problems. I have seen this to be effective primarly with anxiety and depression.
