What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Therapy works best when the relationship is built on mutual respect and trust. I believe that the first step to a fruitful therapeutic relationship is developing a strong rapport using compassionate, respectful curiosity and empathetic listening skills. I believe in looking at the whole person including sleep and eating habits, physical stressors and movement to create a holistic solution. Clients can expect that they will feel heard and respected during session as we collaborate on healing old wounds and developing new strengths and abilities for your best life.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
During your therapy journey tools from treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing will be used to help you build on your inner strengths and heal old wounds. I believe in collaborating with you to develop treatment goals and tools that are based on your strengths, situation and abilities. I believe in a holistic approach to healing including assessing physical and environmental stressors as these can have a significant impact on your emotional life.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Working with me clients will find that my biggest strengths are empathy, compassion, humor and patience. I understand that working through difficult issues like substance use, disordered eating, trauma, anxiety and depression is challenging and that healing is not always a point A to point B process. I will give you the space to explore, at your own pace, the areas you want to heal and where you want to flourish.
