Hello! My name is Allyson and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I received my Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Central Florida. I am also trained by EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) and I provide EMDR services. I am originally from Taiwan and I am bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English. My diverse life experiences have provided great knowledge and insight of cultural differences and cultural identity issues. I have vast experience working with adolescents and adults who struggle with trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, anger management and self-esteem issues. I am passionate about working with LGBTQ population as well. When helping clients meet their goals, I conducts a variety of therapeutic approaches based on clients' needs, including person-centered approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory and art therapy. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Typically I will go through all the basic intake questions such as family background, education, work history, social life, psychiatric history, etc to get to know my clients and get a whole big picture of my client's life first in the first session.

I understand well Asian/ immigration/ minority cultures/ LGBTQ community. I speak both English and Mandarin fluently.
