Hey man, have you been feeling stressed or anxious? Do you want to feel more like yourself in your relationships, your work, and your life? I work with guys seeking growth and balance in their relationships, careers, and hobbies. Many of the guys I work with have professional ambitions and identify as creative people. I help guys like you develop the vision and skills to live a life that feels better. My clients learn how to more effectively feel their feelings and better communicate with others in their personal and professional lives. Life is too short to feel stuck or dissatisfied. I’m trained to help guys like you. Let’s start working together to help you feel better! I’m Jordan Goodman, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, who's committed to living a meaningful life and helping guys like you do the same.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I'll get to know your story and what brings you to therapy at this time. I intend to create a space for you to feel safe and welcome to share honestly about your concerns. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions about me and the therapy process as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am actively engaged in a life and career that respects my various interests and desires. Therapy is a passion and skill of mine that I’ve been practicing for over a decade. I take this work seriously, yet believe there is valuable room for some humor and fun, when appropriate. I will work collaboratively with you to help resolve the issues that bring you to therapy. You are unique and so is your treatment. I will use a blend of therapeutic approaches that best fit your needs and preferences. You are always in control. In addition to more traditional approaches to therapy, I am highly trained and experienced in incorporating mindfulness meditation and therapeutic drumming into sessions, which we can explore together. I’ve been a professional musician for over 20 years and incorporate some of these skills into the therapy sessions for those who are interested. While earning a Master’s at Loyola University Maryland, I researched and practiced the many therapeutic effects of drumming and rhythm. I have learned directly from the world’s leaders in these techniques and have since shared over 1,000 drum-based programs throughout the country. I continue to play drums in a rock band and throughout my career have gotten to perform on tours, at festivals, and shared stages with dozens of national acts. I also spent a few years leading communications for one of the world’s largest pro wrestling companies, producing weekly TV and working with venues like Madison Square Garden. My unique trajectories in career and art inform my ability to help clients with career-related goals and concerns, in addition to guys who identify as creatives.

My treatment methods

Relational

I relate to you, first and foremost, as a human being. The ways in which you relate to yourself and others is foundational to your experience, and can be a useful lens through which we identify and resolve issues in your life. Developing a strong, supportive, and collaborative working relationship with you is my highest priority. This is proven to be the most important factor in successful therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I will offer you a kind and supportive space to openly explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Developing greater awareness of your own experience sets the stage for you to live your life with more intention, success, and peace.

Integrative

I will work collaboratively with you to help resolve the issues that bring you to therapy. You are unique and so is your treatment. I will use a blend of therapeutic approaches and techniques that best fit your needs and preferences. You are always in control. In addition to more traditional approaches to therapy, I am highly trained and experienced in incorporating mindfulness meditation and therapeutic drumming into sessions, which we can explore together.
