I have 5 years of experience working with 21+ adults adjusting to new or difficult circumstances, relationship difficulties, facing anxious, depressive, and fluctuating moods, identity, self-image, or self-esteem concerns, trauma-related issues, grief, loss, discrimination, and career or work concerns. I am a compassionate, resourceful, and experienced partner. I follow a person-centered approach to therapy, which integrates many approaches and places you at the center of our work together to explore your concerns, develop insight, and move into action and new skills and knowledge. I am committed to an open, equal, and trusting relationship. I am committed to multicultural, multigender, and intercultural dialogue. I have traveled to 50 countries, lived and worked in France for several years, and am fluent in French. I am also an active songwriter, writer, and psychological researcher.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will explain the process of therapy in general and what it is like to work with me. I will address your questions and then get right into our first session where we will gather some background and look at the current issues of concern and begin working together. My objective is that you find value in each of our sessions. We will spend 5 minutes at the end of each session to understand what we are learning and experiencing in each session. This reflection is an important part of therapy and good treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an intent listener to your whole person, a partner and collaborator working actively with you to provide value with my questions and feedback. I am working to ensure you are at the center of therapy and that we develop trust and respect and that you are gaining perspective and understanding progressively through each session

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree from Columbia University in Counseling Psychology and Social-Organizational psychology and a Master's in Human Development. I am in the 4th year of a Ph.D. in the Psychology of Change. I follow a person-centered approach to therapy, which integrates many approaches and places you at the center of our work together to explore your concerns, develop insight, and move into action and new skills and knowledge. I am committed to an open, equal, & trusting relationship

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I often emphasize using your personal interests, needs, values and natural inclination to work towards new patterns and solutions

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I feel it is helpful to explore past and present relationships and intergenerational patterns to understand the origin and recurrence of experiences.

Narrative

It is beneficial to work through personal narratives and those imposed on us from the outside or from our core families or origins. These narratives can be understood, edited and updated to serve our needs more adaptively as we grow and learn
