Hi! My name is Teresa Smoak and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. I have worked across a span of settings with people who have a wide range of concerns. My background includes but is not limited to working with people with mood disorders, symptoms of psychosis, stress, anger, trauma, and anxiety.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, an initial assessment will be conducted to allow you as the client to gain a level of comfort with talking with me and allow me the opportunity to get to know you, your current symptoms and stressors and what you are looking to get out of therapy. My goal is to help you feel empowered and capable of getting through whatever it is that is creating distress in your life. I strive to assure that each session you leave with feeling heard, a better understanding and sense of self and and a helpful action that can be taken to practice in between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am solution-oriented, affirming and warm by nature and ready to empower you to embrace your capabilities.
