I have been a practicing psychotherapist for 45+ years. I have worked with individuals, families and couples in a variety of settings including a family service agency, multiple drug treatment centers and a group and individual private practice. I have also trained therapists for licensure and have been an associate professor at two schools of social work. I have experience working with clients who present a multplicity of diagnosis including anxiety, depression, addictions , anger, relationship issues, grief and copendency. I have been trained very traditionally beginning with psychodynamic psychotherapy and moving on to cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused treatment. I may use a combination of these approaches to assist clients to reach their goals
Iassist clients to gain an understanding of their issues by exploring their current situation and their styles of coping. Clients will have an understanding of their past and lean to change patterns of responding so that they can feel more in charge of themselves and the situations they find themselves in

Couples tx is used to decrease conflict clarify expectations and increase intimacy so that couples can find longer lasting communication that is best on trust honesty and respect
