I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 6 years of experience working as a therapist/counselor and mentor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, substance abuse problems, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I believe that in order to navigate life issues, you need the tools to tackle life challenges. I care about your optimum mental and emotional health. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic. rational-emotive therapy and motivational interviewing. Your treatment will be tailored to your specific needs so that you can accomplish your goals or resolve your concerns. I know that change can be difficult for many of us. However, I believe that everyone has the ability to foster a meaningful and happy life. It takes courage and support to take those necessary steps. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Once we get settled and work our way through any necessary paperwork, I usually explain confidentiality – that everything you tell me stays with me – and I share information about myself, my training, and my approach to therapy. I also share the importance of finding the right therapist. This is key – you must feel safe with your therapist and trust them for therapy to be effective. Typically, I will ask the client if they have any questions about me or the therapy process. If not, I ask what brought them in; often there is an event or trigger that prompts a new client to schedule their first appointment. Therapy can occasionally be a painful process as we work through difficult topics, but I encourage all my clients to stick with it and work through the pain to find growth and healing.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Your treatment will be tailored to your specific needs so that you can accomplish your goals or resolve your concerns. My approach is very eclectic in that it combines CBT, psychodynamic, REBT, and motivational interviewing techniques. My belief is that the client comes first so my approach is client-centered.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths lie in my ability to connect with others and empathize with others. My therapy style is warm, interactive, and open-minded.
