Hi! My name is Dr. M and I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California. I received my M.A in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and my Ph.D from California School of Professional Psychology. I have been practicing for 10 years and I love working with individuals experiencing any relationship difficulties. I have completed accredited training at various APA sites across southern California including USC, Loyola Marymount University, and CSUN.
During our first session we will introduce ourselves to each other! Then I would love to hear about your goals and worries about therapy and how I can help you feel safe and seen. We will develop a plan that feels right for you for where you are in life at the moment.
I am proud of being an immigrant and believe that the families and cultures we grow up in shape who we are as adults. I am a very emotionally attuned and sensitive therapist and develop a very trusting and warm relationship with all my clients.
I love working with individuals experiencing relationship difficulties. Whether it is with romantic partners, friendships, co-workers or families. I love working with individuals experiencing challenges in their relationship and looking to develop a foundation of security and peace.
Our attachments to caregivers growing up shape the attachment styles we develop as adults. This in turn impacts how we show up in our relationships with others. We will explore your style and learn ways to develop a secure attachment that will benefit you and the relationships you treasure.
Using myself and our therapeutic alliance as the tool to help you gain a new understanding and corrective experience that leads to healing.
Exploring which thinking errors we make can help you gain insight into patterns that lead to negative emotions and behaviors. Thus, implementing new ways of thinking will lead to new/different behaviors and feelings.
In conjunction with attachment based therapy, EFT is used with couples therapy to explore and understand each partners emotional needs that are deeper than what we ever actually "fight" about. We will delve into "dances" we do as couples and learn how seeing the problem as the enemy, instead of each other can lead to profound change and happiness.
