Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Arizona. I received my degrees from Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. I have been working as a high school counselor in mental health for the past twenty years. I help people of all ages with neurodivergent and mental health-related challenges including ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and life transitions. Ico-authored the book Sticky Note Mantras: The Art & Science of Choosing Your Thoughts.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing and identify strengths and resources to help support you through the process of growth and change. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over twenty years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in educational, competitive/athletic, and therapeutic settings. I am very down-to-earth and enjoy helping others overcome or navigate challenges, and help them to achieve their best selves. I consider it an honor to hear client's stories and to be a supportive and encouraging companion on their journey to improved mental health and well-being.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Certified in EMDR and Advanced EMDR which is an innovative and proven clinical treatment that has helped over a million individuals worldwide. EMDR is based on the premise that the mind can often heal itself naturally, in the same way as the body does. EMDR is a bottom-up approach that utilizes the natural healing ability of your body and the use of bilateral stimulation to help with the treatment of trauma and trauma triggers, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, PTSD, anger, phobias, sleep problems, grief and loss, addictions, pain, performance anxiety, and feelings of worthlessness/low self-esteem.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I am certified in ACT which is based on behavioral psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy and emphasizes mindfulness and acceptance techniques., such as Cognitive Defusion from Unhelpful Thoughts, Mindful Grounding, and Cognitive Restructuring.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, actions, and physical sensations are interconnected and that negative thoughts can lead to negative cycles. CBT aims to help us break these cycles by teaching us to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and interpret events more positively.
