Hello! My name is Liz, and I'm not your average therapist. I am multi state licensed as a Mental Health Counselor with an extensive history of working in inpatient and outpatient settings, private practice and correctional facilities. When I'm not being a therapist, you can usually find me somewhere outdoors, in a tattoo parlor, binge watching a true crime series or getting coffee.
In your first therapy session with me, you can expect a welcoming environment where we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, establish individualized goals, and begin to build a trusting therapeutic relationship to support your journey towards growth and healing.
I bring a little bit of humor and a lot of empathy to every session. If you're looking for a therapist who's all about rigid boundaries and textbook techniques, then I'm probably not your cup of tea. But, if you're looking for someone who's down-to-earth, easy to talk to, holds you accountable and is a little bit sarcastic, then you've come to the right place.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are motivated, resilient, and unafraid to confront challenges head-on in their journey. Whether grappling with anxiety, depression, or navigating life transitions, my approach is assertive, but tailored to empower and support individuals who are committed to personal growth, offering a collaborative space for exploration, transformation, and lasting change.
I take a goal-oriented approach that focuses on addressing specific current problems and developing coping strategies.
I have extensive experience aiming to improve well-being and reduce suffering by focusing on what individuals can control rather than dwelling on what they cannot.
I assist in helping individuals take responsibility for their actions and make choices that align with their identified values, needs, and goals.
I work with clients to identify and build personal strengths and resources to achieve desired outcomes in a short term time frame.
I assist individuals cope with the emotional and psychological stress of loss. We utilize the stages of grief to improve coping skills and emotional stability.
