Kimberly Thurston-Brown
My name is Linsay Hearns and I have worked in the field of social work as a counselor for 18 years. My primary specialty is to work with children, adolescents, and young adults helping to adjust to life transitions, process feelings and emotions, and promote positive and creative self-expression. As a therapist my approach is to cultivate a warm and empathetic safe space for you to feel as comfortable as possible. Trust takes time, and I will meet you where you are!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
At the start of me working with a client the environment is one of the most important things to establish. I work towards creating a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space, virtually and in-person. Goals are centered around the challenges and needs of each individual client.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
As a provider I pride myself on be empathetic, sympathetic, being supportive, and being understanding. We all have a story to tell. Often times our stories are met with disbelief or judgement. Within our sessions, my goal is to listen to your story as we explore, process, make realizations, and work towards an improved quality of life.
