I am an LICSW with 10 years of experience working with adults facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and addiction. My approach is empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental, creating a safe space where you can openly explore your concerns without fear of criticism. I am a great listener, and my direct, goal-oriented style ensures that our work together is focused and effective. Whether you’re looking for support through difficult emotions, personal growth, or overcoming specific challenges, I am dedicated to helping you gain the insights, skills, and confidence you need to live a more fulfilling life. Together, we will work toward your goals, building on your strengths every step of the way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, you can expect to have an open, non-judgmental conversation where we begin to explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your current challenges, goals, and any relevant background information that may help me understand your unique situation. I’ll listen carefully and ask questions to better understand your concerns and how they affect your daily life. This initial session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of my approach and decide if you feel comfortable working together. We’ll discuss how therapy can be structured to best support your needs and outline goals for our work moving forward. It’s a collaborative process, and my aim is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and clear on the next steps in your journey toward healing.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Over the past 10 years I have found a person-centered approach is often the most important way to begin therapy because it establishes a foundation of trust, safety, and acceptance, which are crucial for effective therapeutic work. I utilize a person-centered approach by creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts and feelings. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance based on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. By focusing on the individual’s unique experiences and perspective, I help clients tap into their own inner resources for growth and healing, fostering self-awareness and personal agency in the process.

Strength-Based

In my practice, I utilize a strengths-based approach by helping clients identify and build upon their existing strengths, skills, and resources. Rather than focusing solely on deficits or problems, I collaborate with clients to recognize their resilience, past successes, and personal attributes that have helped them navigate challenges. This focus on strengths empowers clients to take ownership of their growth, build confidence, and approach obstacles with a sense of autonomy and possibility. By highlighting what is already working well in their lives, clients are better able to cultivate solutions and develop a more positive, empowered outlook on their future.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist using CBT, I help individuals by guiding them through the process of recognizing and changing negative or distorted thought patterns that affect their emotions and behaviors. Together, we work on identifying negative or unrealistic thoughts and replacing them with more balanced, realistic ones. This helps clients develop healthier ways of thinking and coping with tough situations. I also introduce practical tools like journaling, testing out new behaviors, and building coping skills to support lasting change and help clients feel more in control of their mental health.
